Ever have one of those weeks where things just don't go according to plan?
One that's filled with the unexpected?
Well, mine apparently spilled over into this week, because I'm not able to bring you the post I had planned.
But I still have a few things I'd like to share, so I hope you won't click to the next blog just yet.
First, I haven't showed you a Maddie picture in a while. She's gotten so big since she was last here.
She and Dixie are best buddies.
One thing that did go according to plan last week was the 4th.
We got to spend it with our favorite firecracker baby.
Elijah turned three this year, so Old Glory and Superman teamed up to make the best birthday cake ever.
I found a nice surprise on my doorstep last week, courtesy of the UPS man.
Whoo-hoo!! I love the smell of new books.
Unfortunately, the rest of you will have to wait until Mid-August/September.
To pre-order, click here.
But the BIGGEST and MOST EXCITING news of all--and you're hearing it here first--
Drumroll, please.

I received a two-book contract from Love Inspired Books!!!!!!!
I'm still happy dancin'.
Titles and release dates are yet to be determined.
So while I may not have a recipe today, we do have virtual cake and punch, so I hope you'll join me in celebrating. Shoot, you can even have seconds, because virtual cake has absolutely NO calories. :)
Happy Tuesday, y'all!
I'm toasting you with punch (not a punch!) Congratulations, Mindy. And hooray for me being able to read more great books. It's been a month since I've read a LI book -- way too long. Things just got away from me and I missed ordering in June but I have a box heading my way any time now. And Ruthy's book is in it. And Jan's!!!!! Woot. Can't wait. I'll have to play eeney meeny miney mo to figure out which book to read first.
ReplyDeleteLove the doggie picture. Can they get any closer? Too cute.
Kav, instead of eeney meeny miney mo, maybe we could get Ruthy and Jan to do Rock/Paper/Scissors to decide which one you read first. :)
DeleteYay, Kav! I know you'll enjoy the books!
DeleteAnd I don't have to do rock/paper/scissors. I'm reading Ruthy's book first ;)
Yay! I have to wait for ebook but at least I caught up ! Finished your first book along with Tina's so ready for more!
ReplyDeleteCute doggies but I'm a Dixie fan lol! Luv big lovey doggies but mad dies a cutie! A friend has a huge black lab and little yorkienamed Mildred!
Susanna
Aww...thanks for reading, Susanna. I hope you enjoyed it.
DeleteYou'd love Dixie. She's a lovable lug. Sweetest disposition ever.
oh- yes I liked it LOL guess I should have said! I wanna go on one of the tours! and eat pizza - butnot with pineapple! blech only had that one time that I liked. meatlovers for me! or cheese or something I can pick off that does't leave the flavor behind! and none of hose fuzzy dried fish things worse than pineapple!
Deletetina's was a little hard to read while eating at work :-( too much medical jargon LOL! and of course I hit the motorcycle wreck scene during lunch break..enjoyed it though. so out of the nominees I still haven't read Irene's though I reada bunch of her other stuff when one popped up on overdrive at thelibrary -that's how I ended up on her backlist reading kick last month. now to catch up on Virginia's - sigh I hate the mother in the one I started and just cant get past wanting her ot be killed off but she never kills people off like Mary Coneally does..maybe she should take some lessons- it's a nice easy tidy way to get rid of unwanted spouses, mother in laws...you know?! HA! jus tkidding Virginia - um, sorta...
Susanna
Yeah, I'm not a fan of pineapple on my pizza either. I'm with you--meatlovers or supreme.
DeleteGlad you liked the story! I remember you mentioning that you were afraid you'd feel sorry for the kid, since it's a secret baby story.
yeh not wild about secret baby stuff but oh well that's just me LOL! it was still a good story though in spite of the secret baby stuff!
DeleteSusanna
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Oh, those books look sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tina. And they do indeed look sweet. Does it ever get old?
DeleteMindy! Congratulations!!!! A two book contract. Sweet! More Mindy books to read :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, new books smell WONDERFUL!!!
We also have a firecracker kid - not really a kid any more, but a beautiful young woman. Fourth of July birthdays are tons of fun :)
Aren't they though. When the kids are little, you can tell them that the whole country is celebrating and lighting fireworks in their honor. :P
DeleteThanks for celebrating with me, Jan. We do love to party. :)
WOOO HOOOO!!!!! Congratulations!!!! :) :) Definitely celebrating with you. Also on that gorgeous cover! Is it a Christmas story?
ReplyDeleteNope, not a Christmas story, just a winter story. As a matter of fact, when they sent me the proof, the tree just to the right of center had lights on it. I told them that since it was not a holiday story, they might want to ditch the lights. And they did!
DeleteWell, it's beautiful and gives a feeling of coziness. So it'll be a nice lead in to the holidays!
DeleteCongrats on the contract, Mindy!!! And love the cover on Rescuing the Texan's Heart! Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jackie! I do love the way they did that cover. Reminds me of a Thomas Kincaid painting. :)
DeleteGreat job, Mindy and super cute cover!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Virginia!
DeleteYay, Mindy! Such good news and a great cover.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie! Soon we'll be celebrating your first sale and I can hardly wait. Talk about a par-tay!
DeleteA two-book contract! Yeehaw! Congratulations, Mindy!
