I have some fun things to share during this season of pumpkin. Have y'all noticed you see pumpkin stuff everywhere?!
I loved this. :) If I didn't already have a cabinet overflowing with mugs, I would've bought it.
But I DID buy this! I'm so excited.
In our new house, our ceramic top stove has a bridge burner that connects two regular burners so you can use a griddle on the stovetop. So I decided to buy a cast iron one from Lodge. And it's reversible! The smooth griddle side.
And the grill side.
I've only used it once so far--grilled some chicken. It was great! I'm so glad I bought it. Next time, I plan to make pancakes on it.
And to somehow include actual food in my post, I thought I would share a pumpkin treat I've had recently in addition to one of my annual favs--a Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte. :)
Here's my husband in front of one of his favorite restaurants, Cracker Barrel. I ordered the pumpkin spice pancake breakfast!

Here's what my plate actually looked like with the whipped cream melting. :)
Oh, my. These were so flavorful, filled with pumpkin pie spice and topped with whipped cream, cinnamon and powdered sugar. And you'll see I also added some maple syrup.
So if you haven't had enough pumpkin yet this fall, you may want to give these a try. When I finally make pancakes on my new griddle, I'll be sure to add some canned pumpkin and spices. I'll let you know how they turn out!

I love pumpkin and apples. I love fall. I love the mix of brilliant colors.... and the food!!!! I've still never been to a Cracker Barrel. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?????
ReplyDeleteAdding to bucket list!
Missy, the first time I had pumpkin spice breakfast stuff was at Le Peep in Omaha... and they did a pumpkin cream cheese stuffed French Toast... OH MY STARS....
I've made it at home a few times because it was amazing, and not calorie-friendly, but once in a while we have to BREAK OUT!!!!!
This looks marvelous!
Ruthy, that French toast sounds amazing!! I'll have to make my own version.
DeleteDo y'all have Cracker Barrels up there??
Those pancakes are really making me hungry. smile
ReplyDeleteI'm making myself hungry again, Sandra! :)
DeleteI love fall and I love cooking in fall. I haven't gotten more adventurous with pumpkin other than cake, bread and cookies though. Never though of messing with pancake batter!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to stop by a Tim Horton's soon and get a pumpkin spice donut...they only have them for the month of October. Sigh. Maybe they'll freeze well.
Kav, we don't have Tim Horton's, but I believe Dunkin' Doughnuts has them. And ever since we moved, I've noticed DD on just about every street corner! They're all over the place.
DeleteI love that Lodge griddle! Good choice! We don't have a bridge burner like you described, but I bought a Lodge griddle pan - it's square and fits on one burner. Perfect for four burgers or a couple steaks. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Cracker Barrel - I sure miss them! We used to stop at one when we made regular trips between Kansas and Michigan, but on the South Dakota to Michigan route, they aren't as common. And besides, there are Paneras along they way :)
Enjoy your pumpkin spice everything!
Jan, Panera is my daughter's favorite! :)
DeleteLove the mug and love the griddle, Missy. I've had problems finding one that would fit on my stovetop because of the position of the knobs, so I'm holding off until we move.
ReplyDeleteI was at Hobby Lobby the other day and saw a sign that said something like, "Happy Pumpkin Season" and I thought, now that's my kind of sign. It's so true.
We have Cracker Barrels here, but never go. Probably because my husband is afraid I'd spend the entire time in the store part and leave him to eat alone. I do love their little store. So many cool things.
Mindy, I really enjoy the store, too! I always hit the clearance rack while hubby is paying the bill. LOL
DeleteOh, so jealous of your griddle! We have a round one and a griller for the oven, but nothing that long.
ReplyDeleteAn people make fun of pumpkin spice everything but I loooooove pumpkin spice. Bless the person who came up with it!
I know, Mary Jane! The flavors just go together so well.
DeleteI saw the cutest sign for sale in Barnes & Noble. It said, "I love you more than pumpkin spice anything!"
ReplyDeleteLove the mug and the griddle, Missy. I have a similar one that I use to grill shrimp!
What a cute sign, Mary Cate! :)
