Favorite Friday!

Missy, here. I thought I'd share a couple of items I've discovered that are new favorites of mine. In case you want to check them out.

First.. CARAMEL.

Second... Coffee.

Yes, I say caramel like many of you say chocolate. With adoration. :) And I say coffee with the admission that I'm addicted.

So here is my new product I discovered at my grocery store that I now view with adoration and addiction.

Starbucks Discoveries--Caramel Macchiato! There are three flavors. My daughter likes the vanilla. I'm crazy about this one. You'll find it in the refrigerator section with the milk and coffee creamer!

Next, a product my mother-in-law introduced to me while we were at the beach. She brought us a container, and she and I snacked on it until we thought we would pop. Of course, anything tastes good from the balcony at the beach...

The product she brought? Pimento Cheese...

You may remember when I shared my favorite pimento cheese spread from Very Vera. And also the recipe I shared where I tried to make some as good as Vera's. (Click here for that recipe.) Well, this one is as good! I loved it. It has a hint of spice and is so creamy.

You can check out Palmetto Cheese and its history, made on Pawleys Island, by clicking here. They show a list of grocery stores where it is available at the bottom of the home page.

While eating it on crackers (it was SO good on Wheat Thins Toasted Chips--Great Plains Multi-grain), I kept wanting to taste olives in it. So I may chop some up next time and see how that tastes. What do you think? Olives added in pimento cheese?

  1. hmm I have to drive to Kroger for it according the seeker thingy...not a fan of pimiento cheese except for some a quilter made - it was real cheese instead of velveeta and just made different with bits of onion. my dad liked the kind with velveeta and lots of miracle whip and those jarrd pimientos..wasn't wild about it but it beat some of the other stuff he liked like olive loaf...
not a coffee fan so not tempted with the other thank goodness - though it does sound good!

    3. It's not creamer. It's iced coffee!! So even better. Like being able to get a Starbucks iced latte at home. :)

BTW, I think it's better than the stuff in the bottles.

  2. Olives belong in pimento cheese. Absolutely!!! I love cream cheese and olives, but I do it in celery, not crackers. No carbs. That's huge because crackers fall into the "invisible carbs" category. You can eat as much of the cheese as you want on a low carb diet, but those crackers sneak right up on your behind, multi-grain or not.

But stuffed celery???? Oh mylanta, Missy, you've got to try that. It's stinkin' amazing!

And I'm totally psyched about a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato creamer! I've been getting the International Delight and the Coffee Mate varieties... I wonder if this is better? That is the one place I let myself go wild, daily, is with my coffee. Because you can only give up so much in this quest for wellness, right? I like to have a little reward for the day, a little "yes!!!" time, so I do that with my coffee. And caramel macchiato creamer is a perfect "YES!!!!". Missy, I'm so glad you told me about that!

    1. celery is icky! can't hide the flavor unless it's cut up really really little bitty and cooked in something. my behind is huge anyways so I may as well indulge in crackers! :-)

    2. Ruthy, like I said above, it's not creamer. It's the real thing: flavored coffee! And it's amazing.

I LOVE celery. Love pimento cheese in celery. Love cream cheese and olives in celery. So I'll definitely try adding olives to this. And in your honor, I'll set aside the crackers (still laughing about them sneaking up on my behind!) and use celery. :) :)

    3. LOL, Susanna! My husband and sons would agree with you on the celery. No matter how tiny I chop it, they can always detect it. They can't stand it!

    4. Missy, how did I miss that???? Is it a gazillion carbs??? (runs to check...)

Missy, 20 carbs / 8 oz.... Not bad, right? And I love celery, the crunch.... And celery with no-carb cheese and nuts???? Oh my stars, that's a meal.

Men who don't have to worry about their waistlines (like your hubby and son) do not get an opinion. That's the rule. Tell 'em I said so, honey!!!

  3. Hey -- I may have a chance at finding some of this. According to the website it's sold in Walmart and those we have up here. :-) Though they don't always have the same merchandise as in the states. But I'm going to check it out. And I like Ruthy's idea of using celery instead of crackers. Yum.

    1. Kav, I hope you find it! If you don't, maybe you can request your store carry it. It can't hurt to try. :)

    2. Kav, yes, another celery vote, LOL!!!!

  4. No coffee for me...but now I'm craving caramel!!!

And the pimento cheese is great on both celery and crackers.

I think it's time for breakfast - and yes, after walking the dogs and working for an hour, I'd have pimento cheese for breakfast...if there was any in the house.

Thanks for sharing your favorites, Missy! And when my family asks why I pick up something strange and new on my Friday shopping trip, I usually blame you ;)

  5. Somehow I doubt if any of these will assist me in buttoning my pants.

The sweet in the coffee I can easily dismiss but I love, love pimento cheese dip. On ANYTHING.

  6. hey anyone here thinking about getting a Nook I just got an eamil from tanga.com for the glowlight touch refurbished for 59.99 with free shipping. wow wish I'd waited on mine :-( I use my Kindle a lot more but the Nooks are nice - wish they'd do library ebooks like Kindle does..so much easier than hooking up and trying to transfer with the usb though some authors/publishers still make you do that with kindle as well.

    1. Susanna, I have a hand-me-down Kindle from my mom who never figured out how to use it. I've never tried a Nook. But I thought you could loan/borrow books on a Nook. Maybe not from libraries though?

  7. Yum. Must tell my daughter about the creamer. No wait. She cheats with a Keurig. So wrong.

I am such a pimento cheese fan. I want to go on a road trip for this one!

    Peace, Julie

    1. Julie, it's actually coffee, not just creamer. It tastes like the iced caramel macchiato at a Starbucks.

The pimento cheese would be a good excuse to head south! :)

  8. Hm, I'll pass on the cheese, but I've seen the coffee and might give it a try!
