Chef Tina Talks Chicken Sausage on the Grill.

I'm sharing my grilling favorite today and wishing you a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!

Chicken sausage on the grill.  There's quite a few brands out there and quite a few varieties, from Italian chicken sausage to artichoke mozzarella.

We've tried many of them at our house but Aidells is our favorite and these are our favorite varieties We first found it at Costco, but you can also buy them at Safeway and Kroger for about $5.99 a package.

Chicken & Apple (info from the Aidells web page)  This one is my personal favorite.
  • Gluten Free
  • No Nitrites
  • No Added Hormones
Packed with plump morsels of Washington state farm apples and our trademark spice blend, this juicy sausage is so tasty, it could almost be called addictive (in a healthy way, of course). Try it grilled with a Dijon, garlic and honey glaze.
12 oz. package (4 links)
Our sausages are fully cooked.
Ready in just 8-10 minutes: Sauté or grill over medium heat or bake at 375

Pineapple & Bacon (from the Aidells website)
  •     Gluten Free
  •     No Added Hormones
A little sweet, a little savory and a whole lot delicious. This smoked chicken sausage has bits of real pineapple and naturally smoked bacon along with a touch of brown sugar and a special seasoning blend. Dice and sauté with rice, peas, onions, and egg for homemade fried rice.

Our sausages are fully cooked.
Ready in just 8-10 minutes: Sauté or grill over medium heat or bake at 375°.

We like them grilled and on a potato bun.  Since they're precooked they only take minutes to brown up.

Have you tried chicken sausage? Any recommendations?

  2. It's almost lunchtime and these are looking delicious. We had something similar at a party many years ago and my husband really enjoyed them. Too bad we don't have a grill here in the city. :(

    1. You need a Foreman. How do you cook steak? Or Tofusteak?

    2. I used to have a Foreman. Hardly ever used it. Don't do tofu - ever. *shudder*

Steak goes under the broiler or in the oven.

  5. Tina, I have tried some of the chicken sausages, though I can't remember the brand or variety. That's what I get for sleeping. I do remember that they were delish, though. Hmm...I think it might be time to refresh my memory.

Oh, you can never go wrong with potato buns. Yum.

    Happy Independence Day, everyone!
