The priest asked the class what they were most excited for about Christmas, and one of the boys answered EGG NOG!Cate Nolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10424872139114718902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7945786327884906788.post-624729353505174132017-12-21T15:34:48.719-05:002017-12-21T15:34:48.719-05:00Kav, Merry Christmas to you, too, my friend! We have to do some summertime painting, scraping and a couple of antler repairs (Dasher Prancer and Vixen kind of look like they have mange on one side!!! :) So this summer is fix-the-reindeer time!!!Ruth Logan Hernehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11550734775151341968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7945786327884906788.post-86330458426546182302017-12-21T15:32:32.201-05:002017-12-21T15:32:32.201-05:00I am in total agreement! Your frenzy makes things ...I am in total agreement! Your frenzy makes things a little out-of-sync this year, and we know it will be grand once done... but oh, gosh, the getting there is tough.

I changed the recipe this year to a 2/2 ratio of eggnog to milk and Mindy, even the non-eggnog people loved it! How weird and unexpected is that? It came out perfectly balanced this way and we served the whipped cream on the side for the non-whipped cream folks. (WHAT?????) :)

I've never seen the SC brand.... but I like a full-bodied eggnog that doesn't taste like chemicals. That's such a disappointment, isn't it?

Good eggnog is worth the expense and hunt since it's only here a few weeks/year!!!Ruth Logan Hernehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11550734775151341968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7945786327884906788.post-5312010800973813452017-12-21T15:28:14.249-05:002017-12-21T15:28:14.249-05:00Larry, how are you??? And twinkle lights! Something I haven't seen in years either. I didn't think you could get them any more. Twinkle lights are mesmerizing in a very cheery way. Merry Christmas, Ruthy!Kavhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03719229222267994577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7945786327884906788.post-18480852089077477912017-12-21T09:46:40.371-05:002017-12-21T09:46:40.371-05:00You had me at eggnog, Ruthy. No, it doesn't have any alcohol in it, but it has more spices and flavor than any other brand I've tried. And I love the idea of turning it into a pie. Though since I'd be the only one to eat it, I might have to save this recipe for company.

Like you, I love the holiday preparations. Christmas is a season, not a day. Unfortunately, everything has been frenzied this entire year. Still, I am determined to keep my eyes on Jesus and choose to be joyous. After all, with all those twinkling lights and the sights and sounds of the season, what's not to be joyous about.Mindy Obenhaushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15049730175697756032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7945786327884906788.post-47579036980510812202017-12-21T07:23:16.349-05:002017-12-21T07:23:16.349-05:00you better cut that pie in 6 pieces cuz I don'...you better cut that pie in 6 pieces cuz I don't think I could eat 8 (the book man)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
