But they do signal fall so maybe that is their purpose. Even the Racetrac, the gas station/convenience store chain, has a pumpkin muffin that is very tasty. Much more pumpkin than spice. I have a iced soft cookie recipe that I make year around as well. And my friend Sonali let me know where to get pumpkin fudge, so I'm very happy! (which freezes very well!), pumpkin pie, pumpkin custard from Abbott's Frozen Custard. Oh, be still my heart. And those pumpkin cookies from last week are AMAZING. Honestly, I do cook pumpkin stuff all fall/winter/spring. Come summer, it's too busy to cook and they're lucky to get sandwich makings in the fridge! Burgers on the grill, 24/7!
