Technology Woes

by Mindy Obenhaus

I am not in a good mood. Technology has gotten the best of me. I mean, I bought a new computer. That's supposed to be exciting, right? And it was, until I tried to sign on the next day and discovered I was locked out. I tried that password every which way and nothing worked. Tech support said the system would have to be reset. Fortunately, I hadn't added any files yet, only Microsoft Office. And I was thrilled to discover that those files still remained after the reset. Except they didn't work. That meant I had to go one-on-one with Microsoft tech support.

The good news is that, as I type this, most everything has been squared away and things are starting to look up. But I'm still cranky. So to lift my spirits, I must tell you about the fun we had this weekend.

Guess who turned one?
Can you believe it's been a year since Max came into the world? Little does he know that this will likely be the only time in his life when he gets an entire cake to himself.

Of course, Miss Taegan had to come see her favorite cousin. It's always interesting when these two get together.
Hey, this chick is smaller than me.
Me thinks he likes his cousin.

And, of course, I was in Grammy heaven.
I'll take babies over technology any day.

So what's going on with you? Are you technologically savvy or does it drive you bonkers, too? Has spring finally come to visit you? If so, what are you doing to celebrate?

  1. You are definitely in Grammy heaven! And I'm with you - I can't believe Max is a year old already!

I grew up with cousins close to my age, and it was great. I know you're looking forward to watching those two babies grow!

Your technology owes, though... Hope they get straightened out soon.

  2. Is that a cookie monster cake???? Was Max blue speckled for days afterwards????? lol Love your grammy pics. Definitely the perfect way to soothe your techology fried brain.

I have a love/hate relationship with technology - love it when it works for me but mostly he doesn't. My computer kindly offered to clear cookies for me so I took her up on the offer, thinking she might be a might peckish for something sweet and I can totally relate to that! So she did her thing and now I've lost all my automatic sign ins and sites like Yahoo are super slow and...I dunno....I think I shouldn't have cookie indulged her.

    1. Kav, it was a blue monster, but not Cookie Monster. And the color seemed to come off pretty well.

You had me chuckling about your computer and the cookies. I'm like you, though, I love technology when it works the way it's supposed to, but hate it when it doesn't. And it gets me so worked up.
