My New Baby

Missy Tippens

I shared this on Facebook the other day. It's the newest member of my family. And she's a beauty!

The color is called cinnamon gloss. I chose it because I have rust-colored paint in my kitchen (you can see a bit of it in the back of this next photo).

As you can see, I also ordered the pasta making attachments! A few weeks ago, I shared about the pasta-making class I took. Soon after, I received this as a gift from my parents and can't wait to make my first pasta this weekend!

I don't have a recipe to share today. It's been a crazy week, and I haven't cooked anything new. So I wanted to share some photos just for fun.

Our church choir had a retreat this past weekend. On the way, we passed a place that always catches my eye. I think maybe I've shared a photo before of a place called Goats on The Roof.

Yes, you read that right. It's a cute place to stop that has food and gifts and fun. This time, I actually stopped and got some real photos (not the blurry ones taken at 55 mph--while hubby was driving, mind you.) :)

I thought I'd share a few of those. Yes, these are real goats...on the roof. :)

And they have an area in back where you can pet the goats. Look at this handsome fella!

We had such a fun time on the retreat. Time resting and getting to know each other. Time to practice new music--even some Christmas music. We also got to shop and enjoy the cute town of Clayton, Georgia.

I hope you enjoyed the photos! I'm sorry I didn't have anything else to share. I hope to share my pasta photos next week. I can't wait!

  1. That place looks like so much fun! And goats on the roof...what a brilliant marketing strategy! No one who drives by will ever forget that place!

So glad you enjoyed your retreat! We need to do that once in a while, don't we?

    1. You're right, Jan! It's great, fun marketing!

Don't you think that gray goat's face and ears look like a sock monkey?! LOL

  2. I love the sock monkey goat. And the way goats always look like they are smiling. :-) Just hope those silly goats don't try jumping off the roof!

And I love your new beauty -- does she have a name? Is she settling in? Feeling useful and loved? She sure is pretty to look at. I wish I had counterspace for cool kitchen eye-catchers like that!

    1. Kav, no, I haven't named her. I may just do that (like Virginia's has a name). :) I'll be doing the inaugural use tomorrow! My son is coming home for a visit, so my daughter is going to come home for the weekend. (other son and DIL can't make it) So I'm going to make pasta! I decided to make the cannelloni that I made in the cooking class. :)

    1. Katie, the KitchenAid has been on my dream list for a long time. I bought a lower priced mixer at Walmart several years ago and got some use out of it. But it never worked quite right (the whisk and paddle never made contact with the bowl, so I would have to lift the bowl--which would make it wobble like crazy and almost fly out of my hands. Soooo, I'd suggest waiting until you can save for the real thing. :)

I'll take photos and let y'all know how it goes!

    2. Oh I do have the real deal kitchen aid mixer. The cheaper ones just did not work for me either. Boy have I gotten good use out of it. The pasta attachment is what I dream about and then there is the question will I actually make my own pasta. :) the next kitchen aid I get is going to be the one with the bigger bowl. My grandma has one that the bowl doesn't have a base it is held on the side with a couple clips. She does not like it that much so for now I will stick with one that sits firm. It is a life saver on dog treat making day!

  4. She's sooooooo pretty!! I love the candy apple red, but I like this cinnamon gloss, too. My kitchen is teal and red, so I bought mine in teal, but I think red is a gorgeous color!
