Ninja Master Prep Demo Day with Tina Radcliffe

Ninja Master Prep Demo Day
Tina Radcliffe

I have Yankee Belle chef, Virginia Carmichael to thank for introducing me to the Ninja Master Prep. A mere $34 bucks it is better than any blender and simpler than any food processor for day to day mixing/blending needs.

Nothing to screw together and cause leakage. It’s easy to clean too. It comes with two containers, each with their own blade/s, blending lid and storage lid. Unlike a blender, the large container this has a pour spout. The pro version comes with three sizes, small, medium and large. If you scroll down the Amazon link it will compare the different types of product available.
The possibilities are ENDLESS from mixing cake batter and pancake mix, to omelets without dirtying a spatula and beaters. Youtube has numerous videos on the product usage.
My personal favorite is making low calorie iced coffee beverages.

Take a tray of ice cubes and pulse until you have snow.

Add leftover cold coffee (about a cup).

You can also add a dairy base of ¼ cup milk if you like or leave it dairy free. I usually leave it dairy free.

Add about 4 tablespoons chocolate syrup.

You can also add a package of sugar free hot chocolate mix instead of the syrup to really keep it low calorie.

This is Trenta size and it did not cost you five bucks.

We eat a lot of pico de gallo at my house, so my next Ninja experiment was to make my own.

I used a basic recipe found online: Remember you do not have to dice. The only prep work is to remove the seeds which I did using a grapefruit spoon.

1 1/2 cups seeded, tomatoes (I am using three Roma tomatoes)
1/4 cup red onion (I am using 1/8 of a very large onion)
1 tablespoon jalapenos (Remove seeds and wash hands carefully. I am using one half a medium jalapeno)
1 clove garlic
Juice of 2 limes
2 tablespoons cilantro, plus extra for garnish
Salt and pepper

Pulse about four times or to desired consistency. The more you pulse the more it becomes salsa like!

IT IS DELICIOUS!

If you’re looking for dessert try tossing a cup of yogurt and frozen strawberries in the Ninja for a nice soft serve ice cream treat!

Enjoy!

  1. What a marvelous piece of kitchen equipment this must be!!!! How do I not own one??????? I love making my own coffee treats and the thought of blending up my own quick relishes or sauces is a wonderful thing. Tina, don't laugh, what do you use pico de gallo for? And every time I see that awesome graphic of all of our Seekerville Christmas books, I just SMILE!!!!! Widely!!! And then I thank God for the amazing opportunities he's given us. Oh... that God! :)

  2. It is AWESOME! Don't tell Mr. Latte, but my Ninja is probably my favorite piece of kitchen equipment. My giant Thor Kitchenaid mixer was cool, but I never used him so I gave him to our old babysitter. (And she's making him work, work, work! And he's much happier there!) Edna and I are in it to the bitter end...
I think I have every book in that graphic. Is that bad??

  4. I have the full size Ninja and love it, but it's not convenient for small jobs so I now have the Master Prep on my Christmas list (I had no list before, needing nothing, those who know me well give me amazon cards for books though).

Thanks for the tip Tina and the recipes too, this looks like something I would really use. I'm still using my little Oscar by Sunbeam, which is about as big as a cereal bowl, that I got for a wedding present 40 yrs ago! I can't believe the motor hasn't burnt up yet, it's kind of like Virginia's Edna to me, but I think Oscar would welcome the help of Master Prep after all these years :)

  5. My husband informed me I need to pump less. My pico was more salsa. But it was delicious. I use it on tacos and my Chipolte bowls. We have those about once a week.

  6. Hey and this works great for avocados. Of course it's wonderful for smoothies and it even grinds flax seed.

  7. Nice! Now I want one. I've been having my own little Black Friday party here at home. I got several Lightning deals for $10 on Amazon and thought about throwing them all in a big box and letting all the 20-something kiddos who will be at our family Christmas either draw straws or play a game for first dibs at the contents in the box. iPhone charger, a couple of movies, a toaster, etc.

  10. 34 bucks. You cannot lose. I keep mine on the counter. I use it too often. Last night's dessert. Yogurt, frozen strawberries and bananas. Top with Cool Whip. My own soft serve ice cream.

  11. This is going on my Christmas list. I have a blender I love, but it's a chore to get it out, clean it, etc.

So for the small jobs, like my morning tea (a Trim Healthy Mama recipe with oolong tea, almond milk, cinnamon, chili pepper, stevia...mmmmm!), this would fit the bill perfectly!
