Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie That's To Die For!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
Missy Tippens

The Belle here. Y'all are going to LOVE this recipe. It makes the creamiest, silkiest pie ever!

I saw Ree Drummond make this on the Food Network and knew I had to have it. I knew my daughter would drool over it just seeing the recipe. We finally tried it over the weekend.

So, here's the simple recipe (click here) to see the original.

Crust:

25 whole Oreos

4 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling:

1 cup creamy peanut butter

One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened

1-1/4 cups powdered sugar

One 8-ounce package Cool Whip, thawed

First preheat the oven to 350 degrees for baking the crust.

Put the cookies in a zip top baggie and crush by pounding them. This is the fun part! Take out all your aggression on those poor Oreos. :)

Mix with the melted butter and press into a pie plate. Bake for 5-7 minutes. Then let cool completely. This is pure torture. It smells so good you want to eat the crust by itself!

Now beat the peanut butter with the cream cheese. Then add in the powdered sugar. Watch out and do slowly, or you'll get a dusting!

Add in the Cool Whip, beat until smooth, scraping as needed (you'll need to).

Pour into the crust. Make it pretty by smoothing it or swirling it on top. Then chill in fridge for an hour (another LONG hour to wait).

Slice and serve. It's so rich, you don't need huge slices. Which will make it last longer. :) This has kept nicely for several days in the fridge.

Silky, silky pie! Reminds me of French Silk pie. You're going to love it.

Oh! My new cover for my October book, The Guy Next Door, is now up! And the book is available for pre-order. I'm so excited! It's been quite a while since I had a new book. :)

  2. Congratulations on your soon to be release!!! Love the cover. Evokes the warmth of romance and really draws a reader in. But, no offence, I'm not wishing away the rest of summer so fall and your book can get here faster! LOL

Peanut butter and chocolate is such a divine combination. And bonus, the oreo smacking bit sounds like a great way to beat a character into submission!

My daughter works at a local coffee shop -- kind of has a crunchy granola vibe to it. Anyway, she often brings me leftovers (freebies for the staff at the end of the day because they make everything fresh.) Anyway, the last time she brought something she had the cafe's version of a peanut butter cup...healthy style. I have not idea how they made it but I want to find out. The chocolate part was kind of crunchy - not a smooth chocolate covering and the peanut butter inside -- organic hand ground of course! It was amazing!!! So now that I have that taste still zinging through my memory, I might just have to try this pie. Like Susanna, though, I think I need to wait for a potluck or something church related. The perils of living alone!

    1. Kav, I wish my daughter worked somewhere like that! That would be quite a bonus. LOL

Yes, do this for your next potluck. It's easy and will be a huge hit. Or hey! Maybe y'all could try slicing and freezing the individual slices. It might freeze okay.

  4. Any recipe with chocolate and peanut butter can't go wrong! This looks amazing!

Making it to take somewhere sounds like a good idea, though! or maybe I should just make sure everyone is going to be home for dinner :)

    1. Honestly, this is so rich, you can only take it in small amounts. Of course, a small amount at every meal can add up to a whole pie in a short time. :)
