Bookin' It

Okay, I admit it. I have no post. I haven't cooked all week. Well, at least not anything I haven't already posted about.

I'm sure you can relate. Especially if you're up to your ears in Speedbo.

Me?

I'm up to my ears in books. As ACFW's Carol Awards coordinator, I'm all about books this time of year. I mean loads of them. So what's a girl to do?

Hey, it's a classic for a reason. It travels well, though one must have a napkin for those jelly drips.

What about you? What's your last resort? What drives you to it?

As we round the bend to the finish line of Speedbo, you'll see me in the stands, cheering you on.
You're a lean, mean, writing machine!

  1. I'm laughing at this because I totally understand! When I coordinated contests and categories for contests, OY! What a busy bunch of weeks that was...

    I loved doing it then...

I do not miss it now.

Selfishly I will admit... I'd rather write. I loved helping out, but now with a fun, beloved full time job and a writing career, my Seeker sisters taught me to say "No"....

    Nicely.

But it was a good lesson learned. Once those contracts start rolling in, it's totally understandable to bow out of some things.

Mindy, you are an amazing coordinator and whoa, carrumba, we've been so blessed to have you!

You've built the Carols into a force to be reckoned with and I will always, always, always be grateful to you.

    And you're cute.

    Bonus.

  2. I'm just beginning to get a glimmer of an idea re. the background to the Carols. Don't know why I thought somebody waved their magic wands and voila, the results were in. Is there a link somewhere ont he web that explains the whole process for curious minds?

My standby this week would have been scrambled eggs and toast but my daughter came to my rescue with a chick pea chili that is yummy. I'll be living off it for a few days yet.

  3. PBJ and leftovers. That's what I'm living on.

Once in awhile some cinnamon toast.

And the crock pot for supper.

Have fun with all those books, Mindy! And yes, we DO SO appreciate what you do!

  4. And then there's that Missy Tippens. Y'all have heard of her, right?

Did you see what she did? Finaled in a contest!

I think it was a biggie, too....

    (Congrats, Missy! Woo Hoo!)

  8. I remember Kav's daughter, don't I? She's talked about her before, right?

Unless this is a new one. One who cooks....

    Hey, send her over here!

  9. Ack! I'm so glad y'all are having fun without me. I've been busy boxing books, labeling boxes, etc. all day. The job is one I really do enjoy, save for these final weeks of craziness. Hard to believe I'll actually be able to enter next year. Surreal.

Kav, if only the magic wand were real. Instead, it's just s elves :-D

  12. I'm way late to this aprty, but I echo all that thankfulness in regards to the Carols. Without coordinators, there would be no contests and then I'd cry. That is all.
