Nutella and Sea Salt Stuffed Sugar Cookies

Missy, here. And yes, you read that title correctly. Nutella and Sea Salt Stuffed Sugar Cookies. They sound amazing, don't they?

They were!

Yesterday, my daughter saw the recipe on Pinterest, and I talked her into making them for us! I didn't get any photos from the making. (I was working.) But I did get shots when they came out of the oven.

Oh, look! One is missing! I wonder how that happened?

;)

And here's the yummy, melted center, hot out of the oven. (The missing cookie!)

I didn't want to just copy and paste the recipe, so I'm going to give you a link. It takes several steps, but my fifteen-year-old daughter made them herself. She only needed me to check to see if they were done.

They're amazing. And you get the occasional nice surprise of a crystal of salt. YUM!

Click here for the recipe on the blog called Cookin' Canuck. (You'll have to scroll down until you find the complete recipe.) Then come back and chat!

And Missy, I do believe your 15 year old and my 11 year old could start their own cafe.

Actually, when Ruthy gets the REAL Yankee Belle Cafe up and running, these girls should be working there.

    1. You understand that might mean moving to upstate, right????

Clearly you're good with that!!! :)

And upstate NY is gorgeous. Lush. North woods deciduous forest land. Love it! Plenty of trees for dryads!

    3. Why? I mean, I thought I could just send her thataways and then you send her back when she's got all those great recipes under her apron!

Seriously, we live in the high desert and those trees sound WONDERFUL.

    1. I blame Julie for most things. And Mary Connealy. And Julie Lessman. It's hard to blame Missy because she's so stinkin' nice and she'll get emotional.

      SIGH.

    2. Virginia, I love it too. Don't spend nearly the time there that I want to. I haven't been signed up long. Plan to do a board for each of my book eventually.

Ruthy, I'm SO GLAD I have you fooled! My emotional outbursts worked well. :)

  3. The only thing I'd do different is use the Betty Crocker Mary's Sugar Cookies (aka Deluxe sugar cookies) recipe that calls for butter and powdered sugar. I think that's the best textured sugar cookie I've ever had... Amazingly wonderful! I must try these!!!

    1. I"ll look for that, Ruthy! Sounds amazing. I bet that powdered sugar makes them tender.

  4. My Nutella loving family will die for these! It's a good idea to save them for Christmas, though. Can you imagine having these things around all the time?

And think of the variations you can make of the same recipe: caramel and sea salt, dark chocolate and sea salt, raspberry jam (no sea salt)...

The cookie scoops have been on my list for years - but I make do with a couple teaspoons and a variety of sizes in my cookies.

By the way, dear hubby and I had a fabulous time this week! Pop over to facebook to see the pictures - and if you aren't FB friends with me yet, send me a friend request!

We spent four days talking to each other (no one else was around), drinking in the scenery and watching the wildlife. On the day of our anniversary we hiked up into the mountains, and my husband let me go around "just one more corner"...which led to a LONG hike back to the car. But oh, it was worth it!

    1. Jan, I'm with you on the salted caramel ones!!! We actually ran out of Nutella, so my daughter did a few of them with Biscoff spread. If you haven't tried Biscoff spread yet, you need to! I've always loved the cinnamon Biscoff cookies you get when you fly Delta. Now I can have it by the spoonful!

      I'm heading to FB now!

  5. I have virtuously avoided buying Nutella forever and yesterday I had the strongest temptation to buy it but I resisted! Sob! These look sooooo good...except for the salt. I like my sweet sweet and my salt salty and never the twain should meet. And did you notice the other nutella recipes on that blog???? Nutella oatbars....be still my wildly beating heart! And did y'all take note that the blogger is Canadian? :-)

    2. P.S.

Canada? Is that up near New York? ;)

I visited Canada the first time when I was 14 and it's one of the most beautiful countries!

  6. there's a nutella swirl blondies recipe in the latest issue of All You magazine - skimmed it in spite of weigh watchers cramping my style..seemed to have all the requisites - 2 sticks of butter, butterscotch chips, brown sugar, nutella.and I think cream cheese was in the list too! :-)
